I wanted to provide an update regarding Mobile phone theft, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. On the 17/03/2026 Officers have noticed two males on a single bike near KENTISH TOWN ROAD, NW5, which raised suspicion, and began following them. They witnessed the two males commit a theft snatch, whereby the passenger grabbed the phone out the hand of a female victim, whilst she was standing outside her workplace. The males rode off round the corner before crashing their bike, with the female chasing them and ending up on the floor. Both suspects then fled the scene. Approximately 5 minutes later, Male suspect 1 was detained and identified by the witnessing officers as being the passenger. During his arrest, , Male suspect 1 states that the phone was in his pants. During a strip search in custody, the phone was found inside , Male suspect 1's underwear. Male suspect 2 was located approximately 8 minutes after the initial theft
Both males have been arrested
Both Males will be attending court with charges – Male suspect 1 Theft from Person & going equipped for theft – Male suspect 2 Theft from Person -
